How to get involved
Sailing and watersports Instructors
With lots of new activities and opportunities at our amazing new Trevassack lake site and on the beautiful Helford River, we are looking for any volunteers with experience teaching watersports including – sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, raft building, windsurfing and swimming. If you don’t have any formal qualifications, we can offer training and assessments to get you qualified.
Fundraising
We welcome volunteer support for our fundraising operation. More children than ever will take part in Children’s Sailing Trust activities once the new accessible watersports centre at Trevassack Lake opens in 2021. We need to increase our fundraising to subsidise our charitable activities and ensure that we can offer lessons free-of-charge to those who need them most.
Could you fundraise in the community? Could you find funders and research new programmes? Are you a dab hand at data entry?
Please call us on 01326 702326 or email using the link below if you are able to help. To find out more about volunteering at the Trust, register your interest using the link below.
Maintenance and Projects
The ongoing maintenance of the site and the kit is paramount for a positive experience of all our users, from gardening to repairs to carpentry projects. If you have an interest or specialist skill, please let us know as we are always looking for practical problem-solving people to help us!
Current projects include:
Carpentry: building dinghy simulators for land based introductions to sailing
Welding & Metalwork: building a rain catchment trough for our Porth Sawsen location so we can wash kit in fresh water after each use
