School Joining Instructions - Helford River
* For coordinated transport, please refer to your child’s school for transport instructions.

Where to go:
Please refer to your child’s school to find out whether to meet us at the North Side or South Side of the river.
North Side

Ferry Boat Inn Beach
Ursula’s Boathouse,
Helford Passage, TR11 5LB
We recommend parking at the Ferryboat Inn car park further up the hill as there is no space to turn your vehicle around down at the village. Disabled parking is available. Please note these are both public car parks with a fee to pay.
There is a seasonal dog ban in place at the Ferry Boat beach from Easter to the end of September.
South Side

Helford River Sailing Club pontoon
Treath, Helford, TR12 6LB
or nearby if low tide*
Parking is available at the Helford Village Car Park (including disabled parking). Please note these are both public car parks with a fee to pay.
Meeting points
Helford River Sailing Club – please wait on the stone quay at the head of the pontoons.
Treath or Golden Gear* – walk along the beach to the right of the quay (10 – 15 minutes from the stone quay).
*Tides:
South Side Only
If the tide is 1.9 meters and dropping, the pick up boat can’t reach the HRSC pontoon, so we pick you up further along the river – either Treath Beach (walk along river from pontoon) or Golden Gear Steps which can be reached along beachfront or walking the road to the path, which takes between 10 and 15 minutes from the pontoon. Click the button on the right to see the tides for the Helford, but don’t hesitate to get in touch with the team if you have any questions on where to meet by calling us at 01326 702 326.

When to arrive
Arrival
The dates and times of the specific sessions can be obtained from the participating school. Where possible, please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the course to sign in with the CST Staff.
Signing In
The school is required to provide a ‘Session Coordinator’ for each session. At the beginning of each session, the Session Coordinator will provide an accurate register of participants to the CST Duty/Safety Officer or CST Senior Instructor. The CST Activity Team provide the duty of care throughout the activity. Upon the end of the session, the CST Activity Team will hand over responsibility for the registered participants back into the care of the nominated Session Coordinator.
All under 16 year olds remain the responsibility of either the school or parent/guardian until they are signed in and out of the activity session with CST Staff members on duty at the meeting point. A Session Coordinator must be present during handover times so as not to cause delay to CST operations.
